Everyday Face Products

_DSC1612 2I wanted to do a beauty post because I haven’t done one in a while and I have a few new products that I’m loving at the moment. This is a simple, everyday look that doesn’t require too much time or effort and leaves a natural, fresh faced canvas by using only 4 products.

Benefit Cosmetics the POREfessional – This stuff is amazing. It makes your skin feel so soft and adds a silica layer to the surface of your skin to smooth out blemishes as well as minimize your pores. It takes away all the oily shine and leaves a beautiful matte finish. It’s a great skin primer and I’m now using it constantly.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer – This product is so brightening, I use it under my eyes or as coverup for those unwanted spots. It is fairly creamy, spreads pretty easily, and you only need the smallest dot for it to work its wonders. The shade that I use is called Honey.

NYX Blush – This blush makes the perfect pink rosy cheek. I put it on the apples of my cheeks and blend upwards towards my cheekbone. The shade that I use is called Bourgeois Pig.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance Bronze – Honestly, when the product came out of the tube I was scared that my face would look way too orange and overly bronzed, however, once you put it on and rub and blend, this primer makes the perfect bronze, dewy glow and also looks very natural.

I’d love to know what you think of these face products if you’ve ever tried them, and also, what are your favorite products that you’re loving at the moment?

Your makeup always looks so nice, I can’t believe your skin looks so even without a traditional foundation! I have the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance (not the bronze one though, scared to use it on my fair skin) and I love it, it adds such a nice super subtle glow. I wasn’t wow-ed by The Porefessional when I tried it but maybe I will have to give it another shot.

I just got YSL Touche Eclat recently and it’s my new favorite for everything really but especially for “no-makeup makeup”. Really helps you look alive and awake without the need for much else.

Aw, you are sweet Megan. Thank you. I’m glad to hear you also love the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, too! The YSL Touche Eclat sounds amazing, I am a huge fan of the “no-makeup makeup” look so I’m definitely going to go try it out at Sephora later this week. I definitely love brightening products that do the job.

Hey Neha! That’s amazing you don’t use much make up products, it’s probably better that way, and keeps your skin fresh and clean! These basic ones are definitely great because they give that simple and clean look.

These are great recommendations! I’ve been meaning to try Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional. I also love NYX products. I’m always surprised at the amazing quality you get at such an affordable price. I’m personally a fan of their stick blush because it’s really great for when you’re on the go.

    Hey Melissa,

What do you use to cleanse and mositurize your skin? Do you use any masks or treatments?

    Would love to know. :)

Great question Courtney! Honestly, my skin is always something I’ve never been very confident with. I’ll break out quite frequently, however, these products have definitely helped… I use a prescribed benzoyl peroxide limited contact foam face wash once a day. I also use Cetaphil to wash my face morning and night. It is a really basic cleansing face wash. And, I use a very simple daily moisturizer called CeraVe. Both of these can be found at drugstores and are cheap! I’ll do a face mask once a month, usually use a homemade scrub. I hope to do a post on that in the near future! I also swear by Coconut Oil as a make up remover and I’ll use it on my face too, it makes your skin so soft!

I have that Benefit brow kit and I like it a lot. It’s especially good for framing my face when I wear my glasses, if that makes sense. I’ve been looking for a new foundation and concealer, so I might just give these a try. Thanks!

So. I have the POREFessional as well. But I’ve always hesitated to use it because I’m not sure where to apply it (and I got it as a gift so I never got the chance to ask the girls behind the Benefit counter how to use it)…do you apply it all over your face like a primer? or only at the nose and inner cheek region?
