1-2-3-4 Chicken Mini Sticks

_DSC0892 2With the Super Bowl just around the corner, I figured I’d share an easy snack to cook up and serve, 1-2-3-4 chicken mini sticks. This is grandmother’s secret Chinese recipe. It’s really just called 1-2-3-4 chicken, but since I made them into little bite size pieces on sticks, I felt the “mini sticks” part was necessary when naming the recipe. The beauty of this dish is that it’s super simple to make and it only requires four ingredients, in addition to the chicken. And even better, you probably already have the four ingredients in your kitchen, so there’s no need to go out to the store to buy them. This 1-2-3-4 sauce can be used for both chicken breasts or drum sticks, pork or beef, it really doesn’t matter. And seriously, it’s the best sauce ever and will leave you licking the plate.

  • 1 tablespoon wine
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Green pepper (or any other veggie that you desire)
  • Pack of chicken
  1. Combine the wine, vinegar, sugar and soy sauce in a large pot. Set to medium-high heat.
  2. Cut the raw chicken up into small cubes and add them into the pot.
  3. Let it boil until chicken is fully cooked, then set to simmer.
  4. Slice the pepper into small pieces and stir fry it in a pan.
  5. Stick the chicken and peppers on toothpicks. Enjoy.
