Honeymoon In Italy

IMG_1102 2Dave and I are currently in the process of planning our Italian honeymoon. We got married in November so we both feel like we are loooonng overdue a honeymoon. I couldn’t be more excited to have a getaway planned for just the two of us. Originally, we talked about honeymooning in Tahiti. We were so set on going there until we decided we wanted to visit his family in England over the summer. And, since we’ll already be in Europe we decided we might as well take advantage of that. So, Italian honeymoon it is. Have you ever been to Italy? Do you have any recommendations for us? Both Dave and I have been there before, however I think we’re looking forward to exploring some new areas together. We love the idea of doing a little touring and some adventure too, but mostly just relaxing…. that, and eating a lot of carbs and drinking a lot good wine. Gelato, too. You cannot forget the gelato. We’ve been looking at a map of Italy recently and can’t seem to narrow it down. We both have the travel bug and really would like to go everywhere. I’d love to hear your Italy suggestions.

And, if you haven’t been to Italy, where did you go for your honeymoon?

Bologna was my favorite food city. It has a very similar feel as Ann Arbor. Cute college town with a lot of students and young professionals. Highly recommended!

Cinque Terre was very relaxing! We did the long hike, the ferry, and just explored all of the different villages. We stayed in Riomagiore which was my favorite of the 5 villages.

Rome, obviously. We stayed in an BnB near the Vatican and it was perfect. Great place for a home base. Dar Poeta was my favorite restaurant!

Florence is a MUST. We did the “hike” from the city to the Plaza de Michaelangelo and it was one of my favorite adventures of the trip. Just a great spot to overlook Florence and realize, hey, I’m not in America. Lol.

Let me know if you need restaurant recommendations. I have a ton. Congratulations lady. Have the best time ever!
