A few weekends ago, we booked a last minute trip to Colorado. It was a quick trip but we had a really great time and surprisingly saw a lot! We hung with our friend, Billy and his two dogs, Cooper and Marley, and they were so kind to show us around. Here are some pictures from our little getaway. Most were taken on my iPhone because I didn’t want to carry around my heavy DSLR, especially not up a mountain. ;)
Driving around Colorado we had to jump out of the car to take in some of the scenic views, like this one.
Cooper was such a good sport in the car. I think this picture is so funny because he looks like he’s deep in thought. Don’t you ever wonder what’s going on in those doggie heads?
We made a stop in Boulder and had lunch with some old friends and some new friends at Fate Brewery.
After lunch we went hiking because that’s what you do in Colorado. Here are the boys hiking. Unlike me, they didn’t want to stop to take pictures every 5 feet, so they were a little bit further ahead on the trail.
The view from up top.
A celebratory ‘we made it to the top’ selfie! However, we both look a little bit sweaty and tired ;)
Those Colorado views, aren’t they something?
On our way down the mountain we passed by this person in a hamock. I think they’ve found the most perfect resting spot!
The next day I woke up like this in Denver! In fact, Cooper woke me up with a nudge in the arm, a few sniff sniffs and a wet kiss. These are the little things I miss about having a dog.
Brunch in Downtown Denver at a place called Syrup. I had THE most amazing crispy coconut french toast. I highly recommend it.
Also in Downtown Denver, was a street performer who started playing a remix to the song I walked down the aisle to at our wedding. Which meant, we had to dance (with the help of a few mimosas!) ;)
Union Station looking all pretty.
And to finish off the trip, a visit to the Colorado Rapids stadium! When you’ve married a soccer coach it means you have to see every single soccer stadium there is, no matter where you go or how big or small. I got to meet a few Rapids players too, which wasn’t sooo bad. ;)
