After spending sometime in Sarasota, Florida with my parents, we drove north towards Amelia Island. We spent a few days there on the beach and in the town of Fernandina Beach, just relaxing.
Amelia Island is such a cute little island. The downtown of Fernandina Beach is super quaint with lots of restaurants and boutiques. We rented bikes one day and road the bike trail to the tip of the island and back again. And then for the rest of our time there we laid on the beach and walked along the shore.
We also had some amazing meals there. We had dinner at Espana one night in their back garden. It’s like a fairy-tale garden. So pretty and the food was so good and fresh. We also did a more casual dinner at Timotis Seafood Shak. We got ice cream from Fantastic Fudge and had a really yummy lunch from the local deli, 4th Street Deli.
We then continued north to Savannah to visit my cousin. She and her husband moved there so we went to see them and their new house. Before meeting up with them we did a kayak tour in Ebenezer Creek. It was incredible. If you’re ever in Savannah I highly recommend doing a kayak tour of Ebenezer Creek with Savannah Canoe and Kayak. It was really different than any other kayaking I’ve done before and it was absolutely gorgeous. You kayak in between all these huge, tall trees and it truly is magical.
After kayaking we went to The Wyld for lunch. It was right on the water, such a great spot. I highly recommend getting a slushie called pain killer and the key lime pie is a must.
We then spent the rest of the time with my cousin, catching up, seeing her new house, their neighborhood and touring Savannah. Downtown Savannah is so pretty. I’m obsessed with all the Spanish moss and wish we had it here in Colorado. We ate at Fox & Fig Cafe downtown and picked up some packs of cookies at the famous, Byrd’s.
