I had never heard of dippy eggs until Dave introduced me to them. The true perks of having a British fiancé is that he brings along with him, his family’s recipes and cultural traditions, and man, are they good. This breakfast is quick and easy and is definitely a great way to start the day. I can already tell we will have many, many more breakfasts with eggs and soldiers included.
- 2 eggs
- 2 pieces of whole wheat toast
- A slice of butter
- Salt
- Pepper
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Carefully place the 2 eggs in the pot and boil for exactly 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, toast the bread and spread butter on top. Cut the toast vertically into thin soldiers.
- Take the eggs out of the water and let them cool for a minute. Cut the top 1/4 of the egg off. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top, dip in and enjoy.
