Happy Chinese New Year! 新年快乐! This year is the year of the sheep. And, I happen to be born in the year of the sheep, so this is extra exciting! I’ve always loved being half Chinese and celebrating all the traditions and holidays that come along with it. It’s fun being able to share my Chinese heritage with Dave and my friends; the red envelopes, the delicious wontons, the loud firecrackers, and pretty silk dresses. I hope you get to celebrate Chinese New Year today too, whether you decide to try one of the recipes below or order Chinese take out. Here are some pictures taken from my last trip to China in 2009. Have you ever been? If not, I hope these few pictures inspire you to go travel there!
Also, all Chinese inspired things:
Three-ingredient fortune cookies.
One of the coolest observation decks in Shanghai.
An easy Chinese chicken recipe.
Asian inspired decorating with branches.
