How To Revamp Your Vanity Set Up

how to revamp your vanity set up

Having lived in our apartment for two years now, there are a few areas that could use an update and some extra love. One of those spaces is my vanity set up. I use it a lot and sit there every morning to get ready. It’s perfect because it faces the window so there’s a lot of natural light. However, I’m going to be completely honest and say that my vanity table gets used and abused. When I’m in a rush (which is most of the time), I’m quick to pile things on top of it. It then becomes a hoarding table for hair ties, jewelry, socks, and sometimes even dog toys! It gets sloppy, messy and uninspiring. Here are 6 vanity set ups that I’m currently inspired by, to help me clean up my act and make my vanity space more loveable. I hope they inspire you too!

1.) A Furry Cushion.

Try giving your traditional vanity space some modern edge and a dose of glam by adding a furry cushion. Not only does it look super chic, it’s also quite comfortable. You won’t want to leave your little spot!

2.) Use Your Space Wisely.

I’ve realized you don’t need an entire wall dedicated to your vanity table. Those of us living in tiny apartments know that we need to utilize our space wisely. I love this idea of using a vanity table as a make up station in the morning, a desk during the day, and a night stand in the evening.

3.) Double Mirrors.

I used to think that you only needed one mirror for your vanity table, however after seeing this picture, I love the idea of doubling up on mirrors. The contrast of mirrors makes the vanity look exceptionally intimate. The large mirror has clean, sleek lines while the small mirror has a vintage vibe, both creating a stylish space with lots of personality.

4.) Keep It To A Minimum.

In order to create a minimalistic vanity, you really only need three things: a mirror, a chair and some natural light. These three things give you a simple, fresh, light and airy space to help you get ready.

5.) Double Up.

When I was in middle school and semi-interested in wearing make up, I often used the top of my dresser as a “vanity”. Yes, all it had on it was a bunch of lip smackers, roll on glitter and a hair straightener but, it was functional. If you don’t want to splurge on another piece of furniture, go back to basics and use your dresser as a vanity. It keeps everything neatly organized in one area of your bedroom.

6.) The No Hang.

Does anyone live in a rental where they don’t allow you to hang things on the wall? If you do, try this approach. Instead of hanging a mirror above your vanity table, lean it against the wall. It makes for an effortlessly cool space.

I’d love to know, what does your vanity set up currently look like? Are you thinking of giving it some extra TLC?

Omg I love the idea of a furry cushion. I have a vanity table too! And I also have a faux fur throw….which maybe could drape over my chair…inspiration strikes!
