Since this is the month of love, we should talk about it, right? However, I don’t want to talk about a romantic type of love because that’s the one that gets the most attention and, it’s not the only love out there. I want to focus in on a little self-love. I know, it’s not as fun as romantic love but it’s equally important. We’re so easy to criticize ourselves, I think we need a little more self-love in the world, especially for us ladies during these winter months when it just feels so bleh! So here’s a fun little post, talking about all the things we love about ourselves. I’ve reached out to a few fellow bloggers and friends and asked them: What do you love about yourself? Here’s what they said:
“I love that I use exercise as my stress relief. It not only keeps me fit but also keeps me sane!” – Caroline
“I love my strength and perseverance! I know it sounds cliché, but I actually truly believe that anything is possible. Whether it’s powering through tough family times and being a rock for my two younger brothers or putting my head down and focusing on my next venture – I’m really proud of my strength and my vision.” – Kelsey, Blondes and Bagels
“I love how much time and energy I put into my friendships.” – Jamie
“I love my ambition. I own my own business and am really proud of myself for not giving up in the beginning when I felt like a little fish in a big pond! Now I feel really happy with my business and I am excited to see it grow.” – Candace, Lovely Little Rants
“I love how often I let myself laugh (and loudly, I might add!). It’s a testament to the way I enjoy and appreciate small moments enough to recognize how special, beautiful and fleeting they are!” – Meaghan, Meaghan T. O’Connor
“I love that I finally have the confidence to strike up a conversation with a stranger… any time, any place. I used to be such a shy little girl, but now all I want to do is chat and connect with people, especially if the topic on the table is food/beverage-related, you’ll never get me to stop.” – Jenna, Peak Nutrition
“I love my knack for seeing what sparkles in other people.” – Sam
“I love how much I love helping others. God has really given me a passion for volunteering, and I love that about myself.” – Sarah, Cunningham Love Story
“I think my red hair is the thing I love the most about myself. Being a Turkish girl with red hair has always been the thing that made me unique and I always get mistaken for a tourist even in Istanbul. It becomes pretty handy when the shop owners talk amongst themselves about how they’ll trick me and charge extra and then get mortified when I speak Turkish to them :-D When I first came to the US all by myself, my hair was the thing people asked the most about too and pretty much all of my conversations started with why I was a redhead.” – Hazal, Decoratively Genius
“I love that I’m not scared to accept a challenge and try new things – a crazy-hard workout, going to medical school a tricky recipe. And when it gets a little tough my positivity and the good people around me help me get through it!” – Maddy, An Apple A Day
“I love that I’m a curious person. It’s opened up a lot of unexpected opportunities for me and it’s lead me to some new friendships.” – Taylor
“I love that I can laugh at almost any situation and never take myself too seriously. I look at this stage of life as a series of mini experiments, knowing laughter is the only variable I can control (and can never get too much of).” – Natalie
“I love that I’m determined. When I set out to do something, I make a promise to myself to get it done no matter the circumstances.” – Helene, Helene In Between
The thing I love most about myself is that I feel deeply. I am always wanting to help people, start campaigns, stand up for those who can’t do it themselves because I empathise a lot. It’s not always a good thing when the feelings are negative, but when it’s positive feelings, I love to help spread more joy into the world! – Rosie, Damzel In This Dress
And here are a few of mine:
I love that I am naturally a good water drinker. I’m not much of a soda girl and I typically drink at least 8 ounces a day, just because I like water!
I love that I’m adventurous. I’ve traveled Europe by myself. It was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had and I’ll never forget it.
I love that I’m a middle child. I get to experience life in between and it makes for an interesting perspective. I know that the middle child often gets the bad rep, but really, I think we get the best of both worlds.
I love that I’m compassionate and have a big heart for others. Plain and simple.
Now that you’ve heard from all of us, I’d love to know, what do you love about yourself?
